Since most of us spend 5 days a week dressing for work, that's where I would start, with staples you can wear to the office, and also on the weekends.
For me, I usually dress more on the "business casual" side of things (well, when I wasn't working from home, that is), even though my office was a bit more causal, and most people wore jeans everyday. Some of my staple clothing items still are basics like:

Black, grey and camel colored slacks
Black, grey and camel colored skirts
Skinny and boot cut jeans
Black and grey cardigans

I would consider these 10 items my staples, because they're neutral colors that you can pair just about anything else with. Most everything I listed is a bottom too, because it's easier, for me at least, to diversify my outfits with different colors and styles of tops and accessories. Because these bottoms are so classic and neutral, you can get away with wearing them every week, since as long as you're pairing a different top, or different accessories with them, nobody will ever notice you're wearing the same bottoms over and over. And because they're classics, they'll never go out of style, so you can make more of an investment in quality basics that will
last, and then buy less expensive tops and accessories to diversify your
wardrobe with. Even just picking up a few bright colored scarves and long
beaded necklaces can be a cheap way to mix things up, adding color and
interest to your basic outfits.

Hope this helps! Now get to the mall, stat, so you can have at least 3 weeks
of outfits ;)Morganhttp://thehandcraftedlife.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2221719422844320229.post-78282005939463579962011-10-20T11:16:20.564-04:002011-10-20T11:16:20.564-04:00Before I worked from home, my co-workers in the of...Before I worked from home, my co-workers in the office all wore jeans everyday too! It's a nice option to have, especially if you aren't feeling too inspired about what is in your closet. I usually would limit myself to only wearing jeans once a week (I love skirts too much!), but one cheap and easy option is just accessorizing your jeans outfits more. Picking up some inexpensive scarves, long beaded necklaces and a couple of belts from Target could be an easy way to change up your "uniforms". Even if you're wearing, say, a pair of jeans and a simple black sweater, if you wear a bright pink scarf with it one day, and then a turquoise statement necklace and earrings the next day, you'd definitely be mixing things up. Especially if you do a different hairstyle with it, like an updo or side pony one day, and a headband and down the next day. People probably wouldn't even notice it's actually the same outfit!

Anyway, I know you didn't ask for my input! I just wanted to share that you don't have to have a ton of clothes to change things up, if you just add some color or diversity with a few inexpensive accessories. :)Morganhttp://thehandcraftedlife.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2221719422844320229.post-48797029344363804452011-10-20T10:52:23.567-04:002011-10-20T10:52:23.567-04:00Thanks so much for the tips!
