Summery Felt Poppy Yarn Wreath

It's no secret that I'm a sucker for a colorful front door wreath, since I've made one for just about every major holiday now. But what I didn't have was a fun flowered wreath for late spring and summer. And considering that before our vacation I had been itching for a smaller, hands on project, making a wreath for our bare front door was just the thing I needed!

Oh man, you guys! Until I made it again tonight, it had been such a long time since I made the casserole that I once claimed was the Best. Comfort Food Casserole. Ever!. I had forgotten just how good it is. And how ridiculously easy!

So I wanted to share it again, just in case you weren't reading back in 2010 when I posted it the first time. Also, it will be easier for me to remember to make it more often, with it at the top of my post list again!

I know, I know, it has been a long time since I posted. But I just got back from a much needed vacation, and as soon as I kick this cold that I came down with on our last day, I'll finally feel up for a regular posting schedule again!

It's amazing what spending 10 fabulous days sitting here can do to rejuvenate your lack of motivation!

Working With A Landscape Designer

Almost a month ago we had a great meeting with a landscape designer to put together a plan for our front yard. If you remember, our yard is in some serious need of help.

Taken in mid-March. Things are a little greener now that the leaves have filled in, but there still isn't much going on at the ground level.

So far it's been a really great experience, so I thought I'd share the process!

Spring is Officially Here

Even though this is the beginning of our third spring living in North Carolina (we moved this week, exactly two years ago), I'm still amazed by the trees out here. They go through change so much more quickly than trees on the west coast do. In fall they turn beautiful colors for a few weeks, and then seem to all fall to the ground overnight. And in spring, in less than one weeks time, everything explodes with greenery.
