A while ago, when I showed off my walk in closet bedroom makeover, Kristen, aka Mrs. Glasses suggested that I deserved a reward for all of my hard work.
Well, I made a promise to myself to not buy any more shoes for the entire first
quarter of the year. Nothing until early April. I think this might be the longest time period in the last 5 years without buying shoes! I know, I know, I have a problem—I’m dealing with it.
But! That doesn’t mean that I still don’t deserve a reward. After all, I’ve been being really good about keeping our house clean. So I set a limit of $100 or less, and just bought a new purse.
What, you don’t think I need another one?
No, really, I did! I swear! Look at the straps on my everyday purse, they’re about to break!
So here is my new bag, which I can’t wait to arrive in the mail (although I will be removing the "chocolate" tag from it). I got it from ebags.com, and I Googled for a 20% off coupon with free shipping.
But ANYWAY. All of this doesn’t really have much to do with the point of this post, I just wanted to show off my new purse! :)
So while I was browsing ebags (and I’m one of those people who can browse online for hours and hours if I’m bored), I started noticing there were quite a few handbags with rosettes on them, including my new bag.
It must be a trend.
Which got me thinking….I was already a fan of rosettes about 8 months ago….on my DIY wedding shoes!
I’ve since removed the ankle cuffs from the shoes so I can wear them in everyday settings, since with the cuffs they were a bit over the top (although perfect and exactly what I wanted for my wedding day!).
So the rosette cuffs have just been sitting in a drawer, with no use for all of these months. Until I was inspired by ebags to attach them to the front of a little black evening bag!
And now I have a gorgeous rosette evening clutch to match my shoes!
Of course, I took the easy way out, and only attached the base of the flowers to the purse with safety pins. Not that pretty on the inside, but I wanted to leave myself open to the option of still using this as a plain black clutch if I need to.
I’m so happy I finally found a use for these ankle cuffs; repurposing feels great! Now I just need an excuse to dress up in a little black dress so I can wear my shoes with my new clutch!
Have you found ways to repurpose any of your wedding attire or decorations?

Here is an excuse: Go out on the town Friday! This is going to be a hot outfit! Love how you repourposed.
Your new bag is super chic! Love it! I love rosettes, too. We've been able to use some of our wedding decorations, including wine bottles and grapes, as decor at home. Might as well get as much use out of them as possible!
Girl, you have a lot of shoes. :-P But great job on the repurposing! So cute it matches the shoes exactly. :]
I love the color of your shoes, and now clutch! You did a fantastic job!
Great transformation! Love the repurposing! So cute that they match!
Love your new bag, and the rosette clutch is super cute! I'm still trying to figure out a way to repurpose some of our wedding stuff.
BTW, I sadly won't be making the Bee meet-up tonight - I am about to start a trial and my entire team is galivanting in NYC on a marketing trip so I need to hold down the fort. Have a beer for me, and we should meet up soon!
Dude!! So smart and super cute. I say you go on the town for a fashion photo shoot! I haven't been able to repurpose anything from our wedding yet. I must start looking for possibilities.

Adorable!!! Great work :) I love me some rosettes, and never thought of a DIY version.
THIS IS PERFECT!! It would be the best little set to dress up any simple formal outfit. I'm eternally in love with the purse & shoe combo!
