Did you all have a great Labor Day weekend? We definitely did! It was a nice change of pace from our normally travel/project/activity filled weekends, although we managed to get in a few things between relaxing.
Saturday morning I did some more spray painting for a project I'm working on in our bedroom.
Then I set up our giant kiddie pool, since I'd been waiting all summer to use it, but we just hadn't had the time. We've had this thing for several years, and I scored it at the end of summer for $20. Not bad for a 12 foot by 4 foot pool!
My husband made fun of me though, and wouldn't come in the pool. He thinks it's dumb, but I didn't care. I had a relaxing afternoon anyway without him, reading out in the pool, while he stayed inside and watched football.
Sunday morning I went to a Flea Market at the State Fairgrounds with my friend Katie, and scored something awesome, which probably deserves a post of it's own. Apparently the Flea Market shuts down for the entire month of October for the State Fair, so I might have to make another trip at the end of the month; we heard several vendors talking about all the sales they're having, and will be having because of the time off.
Sunday afternoon we went to a BBQ at my brother in law's house, since we didn't get to spend last weekend with them as we'd originally planned. Then, Monday I had to work for a few hours (dang work crunch time is still trying to kill me!), and we'd planned to go on a hike in the afternoon, but didn't end up going because of rain showers.
So instead I finished reading the final book in The Hunger Games trilogy. Which I really, really enjoyed. Obviously, since I started the first book on Saturday, and finished all three by Monday night! They were very well written, and have some interesting parallels with some of today's societal issues, while being very engaging and entertaining at the same time. At the end of the first book, I was wondering how the author was going to stretch the story out into two more books, but it just got better and better. Definitely recommend these books if you haven't read them already, although it seems like just about everyone has read them by now.
What did you do over labor day weekend? Did you get in any "laboring" or did you spend it relaxing? And have you read the Hunger Games yet?

I love your little pool! I've been wanting to get one for me and Bodie, LOL.
Your pool is too cute! We definitely did almost no laboring over Labor Day weekend - it was the best :)
I heart The Hunger Games trilogy!
I love your pool!! I'm super obsessed with the Hunger Games--I've re-read them too many times to count! Can't wait to see what you snagged at the flea market!
I love that pool -- wish I had one! We went out to a BBQ restaurant this weekend and tried to take it easy like we usually do. I did sneak in some classwork, though, since I'm trying to get ahead before our trip to California in just a couple weeks!
Totally giggling over the kiddie pool! You look silly and yet relaxed and that is really all that is important! I, a book fiend, haven't read them yet - stupid school getting in the way!
haha I love that you filled up a pool in the back yard just for you! And I have not read those books. Its one of those things where I feel like I have heard about them everywhere but I have no idea what they're about! Also, I'm kind of cheap when it comes to my books so I'll probably wait until I see them at the half price book store or can borrow them from someone.
Haha! I would have totally lounged in that pool!!
I would have lounged in that pool. :) And I'm interested to see your spray-paint project - I've been eyeing that paint for awhile now!
We did a lot of relaxing this weekend - it was awesome! I'm jealous of that pool...looks nice!
Gigantic kiddie pool is not dumb. Gigantic kiddie pool is awesome! I'd be doing the same thing!
I love the you hung out in the pool by yourself. :) It's a mighty big kiddie pool, too! When I first read that you hung out in your kiddie pool I was thinking one of those plastic circle ones. :) Can't wait to see what you picked up at the flea market, I love that place! Sometimes you can find deals but sometimes things are SO overpriced. The fact that they are having sales at the end of this month makes me want to head on down there myself and see what they're trying to get rid of!
I LOVE the Hunger Games trilogy. I've read the whole thing twice already and can't wait for the movies. Once I was done with Mockingjay, I had no idea what to do with myself because all other books paled by comparison.
I don't know what your husband is talking about, but that pool is freaking brilliant! He can laugh all he wants...you look cool and relaxed. :)
my labor day consisted of a lot of sun and sand :) looks like yours was tons of fun, too. if only there were more 3 day weekends during the year.
