I went for 12 weeks of work days without repeating a single clothing item. But early on I went a few weeks where I skipped a day, so I ended up only documenting 56 outfits.
(Note to self, next time I do this, be more consistent with my camera's white balance settings!)
And just for fun, a shoe recap as well.
Also for fun (probably only fun for me, but whatevs), since I'd taken the time to note the brand/store all my outfits were from in the original posts, I decided to do some data charts, just out of curiosity. I broke down all of the brands/stores for all of the tops, dresses, bottoms (including skirts, shorts and pants), accessories and shoes.
And then, to combine all of my Excel dorkiness, I did a combo of all of the above charts, including everything I wore for the 12 weeks.
And yeah, just as I suspected, I big puffy heart Target, and a select few other inexpensive retailers.
Sorry if I'm boring you. :P
Although one thing that maybe someone can learn from all of this is that if you want to have a large quantity of clothes to choose from, shopping at inexpensive stores helps a lot. I got a lot of comments over the weeks like "wow, I can't believe you have so many clothes" or "I could never spend so much money to have a closet like yours."
But the reality is, I'm actually pretty cheap when it comes to clothes. I save clothes forever to build up my collection (I actually have shoes from high school still, one pair which I think I need to dig out because they're back in style). And there are very few designer brands in my breakdown charts. It's all about finding the fun, versatile and cheap clothing items for me. I'm sure I could walk into any number of more expensive stores and find a ton of clothing items I like. But I think it's more fun to peruse the aisles of cheaper stores, finding those sales, finding that perfect top that's on the clearance rack for $7.99.
And that's totally a lesson I wish I would have learned in high school, instead of being obsessed with brand names and what people would think of me!

I somehow LOVE this. I think it is awesome that you're able to go this long. I feel like I wear the same thing every week!
If only you remembered how much you spent on each item, I think that would have been the real 'wow' factor! (Although outfits seem cheap until you add all the 'essentials' like underwear, stupid not so cheap bras!)
I love this post! I probably have a similar ratio of clothing in my closet from Target - another place a huge portion of my clothes are from is Plato's Closet - the best clothing resale shop ever!
I think it's awesome that you were able to go this many days without repeating anything, and it makes me curious how long I could go!
Woohoo Target!! I totally get the whole brand name thing. I find the best things to wear are things that fit you well and if that means they come from Target or Kohl's, who cares, really? Also, I miss your weekly outfit posts so I'm glad you posted this, it was fun to see everything together.
Great clothes! I love Old Navy and Target for stocking up on basics like tanks and tissue tees. Also, my first suit I ever owned came from Target for $50, and I still wear it today and like it more than some of my $450 suits. So you never can tell! It seems like Victoria's Secret is one of your favorite stores. I've never bought clothes from there, bu maybe I should start :)
I felt the same way when I was in high school, and now my friends and I work to see who can get clothes the cheapest!! I shop almost all the time at Kohl's and NY&Co, clearance only with coupons, and have even started hitting up the Goodwill stores. I also get workout clothes from Walmart, because they are just as good but all less than $10 apiece.
I save clothes and shoes forever, too, and I still have some jean jackets from high school that still fit and look great! I love to shop at Target and include a good mix of price points in my wardrobe to make for some good mixing and matching. Great breakdowns!
i love the charts! this is something dorky i would do. i adore shopping at Target, but i've never tried H&M, i'll have to take a look. i like victoria's secret as well, but i feel like all their dresses show too much boob for work - have you ever noticed this?
i've really liked this series b/c i definitely need some help dressing like a grown-up for work, i need to wear more than just jeans and you've given me some great ideas.
I love the charts! And congrats on buying so much of it from the more affordable stores!
I've found lately I've been buying less things, but more expensive - probably because Anthropologie moved to my city 6 months ago, and it's a huge weakness for me.
I am soooo jealous of your collection of shoes and am so impressed that most of your wardrobe is from target!
I'm one of those people who always got rid of items the second they went "out of style" or if I thought I wouldn't ever wear it again ... and I'm learning very quickly that things I used to have are suddenly back in style and I don't have those pieces anymore! Thanks for the breakdown.
That is impressive! So many times I end up just re-wearing the same things sometimes even 2 weeks in a row. This made me feel like I need to step up my game.
Girl, I love me a sale! And I agree about the brand name thing in high school. I remember wanting to be a walking billboard and now, could care less. So long as you look good in something and it makes you feel like a million bucks, that's all that matters.
Morgan, I LOVE the charts and statistics - a girl after my own heart!
you totally amaze me with your analysis and charts, not to mention your fashion sense!
I heart you for doing this!! They're so poster ready!
