But here's a little look at what we've been working on, lots of things in progress, but nothing actually done yet!
The fireplace, two weekends ago:
The fireplace facade progress, at almost midnight last Saturday, right after we got the new fireplace glass doors and TV mounted.
And another shot taken Super Bowl morning, once we cleaned up all of the sawdust and tools. We've since continued to add more trim, and next week we will prime and paint it all, and build the cabinet doors and mount them on the bottom right side.
Oh! And our new rug finally arrived. Love it so much, and can't wait for a new coffee table now.
And in bathroom renovation news, I've finally gotten around to painting the window and door trim white, and only have one more coat of semi-gloss to go.
And next I will be making some window treatments for the bathroom, since it looks like we're going to hold off on getting plantation shutters until we get new windows for the house. It would be a shame to get something now that wouldn't work with new windows once we get them. So I've built a frame for a fabric covered cornice, and hope to finish the rest of the window treatments in the next day or two.
This weekend is our last big push to finally (FINALLY!) finish the downstairs bathroom and all next week we will be painting the fireplace facade (so not looking forward to that, with all of the trim it is going to take forever. I'm guessing 12 hours of just painting time at 3 hours per primer/paint coat, not including dry times. So that means it will probably take 24 hours.). Hopefully sometime between all that I'll have some time for a real blog post or two.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
