The past couple of weeks I've been spending several of my weeknight evenings here, on a pretty lakeside trail not too far from my house.
You might have noticed that I haven't been posting as much the past
couple of weeks. But it's for a very good reason, I've been focusing on
myself a bit more, leaving less time for house projects.
will be summer in a few months, which means vacations and swimsuits,
and so I've been making more of an effort to work out 3-4 days a week. I
realized after our big early year push to get things done around the
house that I just wasn't making the time I needed to focus on me. After running a 5k last fall, I really slacked off, especially once the holiday season arrived. But no more!
I think the secret to keeping me motivated is changing things up (that, and the fact that we've got a 10 day beach vacation planned!). So some days I've been jogging around a nearby lake.
And other days I've been doing my old P90 work out videos, along with this 10 minute standing abs workout. And I'm looking at trying out the Brazil Butt Lift videos too, since they look pretty fun.
I'm sort of making myself a project, since lets face it, I've either got time for working out in the evenings, or working around the house, not both. Especially since I've continued my commitment to actually cook healthy dinners, and not eat frozen dinners every night, like we used to. Actually, since I started that plan back in August, we've only had two frozen dinners, and both of those were the week before our house guests visited, since we were busy cleaning.
Hopefully it will be a worthwhile project though, especially since the reward will be feeling more confident while laying on the beach this summer! Maybe I'll actually look forward to buying a few new swimsuits this year too, since it's been about 4 years since I've bought new ones.
So, that's what I've been up to the past couple of weeks, and why you're probably going to see a few less posts from me, since writing about working out is even more boring to me than the actual working out. Weekend projects only for a few months, so I can concentrate on toning up a bit!
