Our dining room table, ready for Christmas dinner:
Table decor was loosely inspired by Pottery Barn's deer, trees and candles display.
With our woodland creature napkin rings being inspired by The Inspired Room's table settings. I decided to go with a more neutral, gold theme this year, to really let our new dining room table shine. And it will be easy to layer in different colors and details in future years with the gold elements.
Until I get around to building a buffet/sideboard table, I set up some bar stools with a couple pieces of wood on top, and covered it with some fabric. It works to fill the space as long as you don't look at it too closely!
And to fill the bare wall on the other side of the room, I made a tinsel wreath, inspired by Creature Comforts. It is just five strands of tinsel garland wrapped around some foam board I had around, and I made the deer and 'Merry Christmas' bunting on my silhouette machine.
Into our family room, I was inspired by this photo on Better Homes and Gardens, especially since we still haven't gotten around to putting up curtains.
So I used some ribbon and some garland from the dollar store to create my own version.
Our mantle decor was also loosely based on Pottery Barn inspiration, with more Christmas deer. I got these deer and mini trees from TJMaxx and Home Goods, and the burlap stockings are from etsy.
To our tree, I added a few more woodland creatures than last year, as well as added thicker ribbon and some pine cones. And I love our new tree skirt, also from etsy.
Originally though I bought this third large deer, and stuffed him with Christmas lights, because I thought he would be a good tree topper. Until I realized that he was about three times too big for the tree, so now he lives on a side table, under a wrapped canvas.
Instead I swapped in this gold deer for the tree topper that was a much better scale for the tree. I still really want a deer that is lit for a tree topper, but I'll save that hunt for next year.
More wrapped artwork. I love how easy this concept is to decorate things already hanging on your walls.
Over in our breakfast nook, I've got some dollar store decor, that was inspired by Creative Designs. Just some vases filled with ornaments, bows, bells and candy canes makes for a quick and easy centerpiece.
And I also found five packs of snowflake ornaments at the dollar store, which are hanging from the light fixture.
Over in the kitchen, under more hanging snowflakes, is a candy cane wreath, also made with dollar store supplies. This was inspired by At The Picket Fence.
And the mirror in our front hall is decorated with a silhouette design by Fyne Designs.
And the last decorated space, at least inside the house, is our front door snowman, thanks to the idea by The Creative Stamper Spot.
So that's this year's holiday decor. I've had most of it up for weeks, but it took me this long to actually post about it because I was too busy cleaning and prepping for house guests. I didn't even have time to DIY Christmas cards this year, and will be sending the store bought ones I have late to boot. I did make one card, after trying out this ribbon tied stick version and not being able to get my ribbon knots to look right. But this too way too long and was way too labor intensive for the amount of free time I had. Maybe I'll save this ribbon loop tree card idea for next year though!
I've been loving browsing Pinterest and my favorite blogs for Christmas decor inspiration this year! Have you been inspired by anything fun that you've implemented in your home?
