We've just locked down our second camping/cabin rental trip for this summer, so now we'll be going over Labor Day weekend and the first weekend in October. I'm really itching to get out into nature again, since we usually go at least 4 or 5 times each summer.
(Sunset over Mount Shasta, at one of the places we stayed last summer. This was an old 14' x 14' forest service lookout tower that sat atop a cinder cone mountain, in a formerly highly volcanic region of Northern California. This was the third lookout tower we've rented in the Shasta-Trinity Forest Service region, and our favorite of the bunch. Too bad they fill up 6 months in advance, or we would have rented another one this summer.)
Anyone else out there enjoy camping or renting cabins? What are you itching to do this weekend?

Wow! That cabin is so amazing! I would love to stay in something like that. We went camping with my Japanese staff member (my boss' son), his wife, and a Japanese family last summer. It was nice because we never go camping, and certainly have never been "Japanese camping." It was like regular camping except with more rice and hormone BBQ (yes, it is how it sounds). No camping for us this year :(
Ha! I just had to google what "hormone BBQ" is, and only came up with results for hormone-free meat!
Whoa, that is some fantastic cabin/lookout tower!
That looks amazing! I'm not much of a camper, but I do go on a rafting trip at the South Fork of the American River once a year. It involves camping, but the camp store makes homemade muffins, and you can buy lattes there in the morning. We're going the last weekend of August - I'm really excited to get into some 100-degree weather :)
