As I mentioned last week, we're going to my aunt's for Thanksgiving this week, so I don't have any reason to decorate for the holiday. But a girl can still dream, right?
When I think of how I'd decorate my table for Thanksgiving if I ever hosted, I tend to lean away from the traditional explosion of the color orange that seems to always be associated with autumn. I get it, orange is the main color of the leaves people see when they look outside this time of year. It's the color of pumpkins and gourds. But that still doesn't mean that I care for the color. It's actually one of my least favorite colors, and just because it's popular doesn't mean it's something you have to stick to!
And since last week I presented you with my favorite alternative turkey recipe, with lots of garlic and rosemary, I thought I'd also share some non-standard Thanksgiving decor inspiration. I think these still convey the Thanksgiving holiday spirit, but with only a hint or two of orange at most.

(With red fall leaves instead of the white flowers on the branches, how easy would it be to make these centerpieces with stuff from your yard!)

I host thanksgiving but if the table gets more than 2 candles, I call it decorated. While decorating isn't my forte, I'm pretty good at cooking :)
Purple is my new fall color too, it never gets the recognition it deserves! I used a lot of green and purple during Halloween.
I would totally do the white pumpkins and branches if I were hosting Thanksgiving. My house is too teeny. :(
I loove purple for fall! And red! I think red is a prettier fall color than orange, although I have quite a bit of orange in my house right now.
That first look is very easy to recreate - we did it for our wedding! I never thought of purple as a fall color, it looks great in these inspirations, but perhaps you are a little biased on the color purple for decorating ? ;D
I love the white pumpkins - very chic! I like orange but agree that it's good to branch out and use unexpected color choices every now and then. Love your inspiration photos!
SOooo pretty! I love all the inspiration!
Very pretty! Much nicer than the orange and red explosion that's currently on my dining room table, haha :) I don't really like orange either, but my husband loves it.
I am LOVING the branches and painted pumpkins! My family never really did decor (we had a few items for the seasons though that my mom would switch out) and I hope when we start hosting holidays to do some simple but bold stuff like this.
