It's hard to believe that on Saturday there were tornadoes near our new home. We were in New Orleans for the weekend though, so we missed the storms, but our cats and home seem to be no worse for the wear.
However, yesterday it was beautiful out, in the high 70s with clear skies. And since I now have the luxury of working from home, I decided to eat outside on our back deck, instead of catching up on emails and blogs on my lunch break. But it was worth it, because I spotted some furry friends in our backyard!
I got to eat my sandwich on the deck while watching two fat bunnies munch the grass in our backyard:
After I was done eating, I quietly went out on the grass and snuck up on the cuties. I managed to get about 4 feet away!
And my favorite photo of the 40 or so I took:
I keep expecting to see deer in our wooded backyard, but haven't seen any so far. But at least I now know there are adorable bunnies to look at.
I can't wait to discover what other wildlife we've got around our new home!
Do you have any wild animals living near you? Back in California we only ever had squirrels and birds in our backyard.

So cute! What a gorgeous backyard!
Alligators?
How cute!!
We've gotten skunks and possums since moving to the suburbs...big difference from the city!
We have rabbits, deer, cats and opossums. An occasional coyote too!
LOVE the pictures!
Ahh! Bunnies are such pests to us! They're adorable, but they eat all of the things we work so hard on (tulips, lilies, blueberries, raspberries, herbs, etc). Our dogs keep them away in the backyard for the most part, but we still found two dens of baby bunnies last year. So if you plan on gardening in your new backyard, good luck...it's horrible to hate something so cute, but gah! They drive me nuts!
