Well, we spent about 4 hours Friday night experimenting with popcorn ceiling removal techniques in our laundry room, then spent about 12 hours on Saturday prepping and scraping the ceilings, and doing some sanding and puttying. Then yesterday we spent about 13 hours sanding and puttying and sanding and vaccuming and cutting in and priming.
My feet are killing me and I can't get the last of the primer off of my hands. But it's going to be so worth it!
We've got another coat of primer and then ceiling paint left to go in our family room, breakfast nook, kitchen and entry hall. And once we're done, I'm going to do a full "how to" post, once we know the final times on how long it all took, and how much of the paint and materials we bought end up getting used.
So for now, here's a look at the hard work we were up to this weekend!
More to come in the next few days after we finish up!

Yay! They're going to look great!
Wow, you're making wonderful progress! Can't wait to see the finished product :)
sounds like you two did a *ton* of work--can't wait to see more, and kudos to both of you!
Wow, you really put in a ton of hard work this weekend! It's definitely going to pay off big time.
Good for you guys- that's super hard work but it's going to look so gorgeous! I remember my dad doing this to our house when I was in high school... and for once I was very grateful that I was in school and unable to help
My hubby and I also removed popcorn ceiling from our home when we first bought it. It was intense work. Job well done on yours!! It's so worth it.
No more popcorn ceiling! Hooray! Seems like such hard work but I bet the result is so worth it.
OMG I can imagine! We have a bathroom to do this to; you should post up all the nitty gritty for us poor souls about to embark... lol.
omg, you guys are BRAVE. That's exhausting work just listening to all of that!! It'll look great when you're finished though!!
Wow! I'm seriously impressed! We considered removing our popcorn ceilings when we were moving in, but we got lazy (and didn't have time). I'm interested to see how it goes for you - we'd still like to take care of ours someday!
We did popcorn removal at our house too and it was so worth it!! Glad to see you're doing it.
Good luck! I'm really looking forward to the how-to post. Our ceilings need it :)
