We didn't do much this weekend for the Super Bowl. I was sick for half of the weekend, and we got up early (for a weekend) on Sunday to do some cleaning around the house.
After showering, I put on my awesome Captain Morgan capri PJ pants, and by then the game was starting, so there wasn't much time for making game day snacks.
But I did whip this amazingly easy chili dip up during one of the early commercial breaks. It is my MIL's recipe, and incredibly quick to make--I was literally done and sticking it in the oven before the game came back on!

Ingredients
- 1 package of whipped cream cheese (you can use regular, but the whipped spreads so much easier)
- 1 can of chili
- 2 cups of cheddar cheese
- green onions
Directions
Layer all of the ingredients in a pie tin (and disposable pie tins are great for if you want to take this dip to a party) in the same order as the ingredients are listed above, starting with the cream cheese in the bottom of the pan. To save time I didn't even chop the green onions, I just rinsed them and pulled them into pieces with my hands. Not as pretty as chopped, but fast!
Stick it in the oven at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes, or until the cheese is all melted and bubbly.

Serve with chips or crackers.
And, um, we may have been too hungry/too into watching TV to take a photo of the dip all cooked. I didn't even think about it until it was half gone! So I'll spare you all that messy picture, because I'm sure you can use your imagination. And it's a testament to just how good this super easy dip is!
Did you make any snacks for the Super Bowl this year?

So sorry to hear you were sick. I'm not a football fan, and since I also had tons of work to do, I didn't even watch the game. I did watch the post-game Glee episode, though!
Yum! That looks so good, and can transition to a vegetarian recipe with the use of veggie chili. I made seven-layer bean dip for a party at my law school friends' house - I've been making it for four years. Even though it's a simply recipe, my friends love it!
Yum! Looks really good and so easy! We bought 7 layer dip and fried chicken from Safeway and popped some frozen pizza rolls in the oven :) Very very lazy!
I am a wierdo and have this crazy fear of opening cans so I could not make this, but I would definately try this if someone else made it! Love easy and fast snacks!!
I usually make this same dip with salsa but I love that you used chili! YUM!
*drool* That looks so delicious! We had some people over for the game, so hubby made some buffalo chicken nachos that he found in some food magazine, and friends brought all sorts of dips (including one that was Velveeta, cream cheese, bacon, spinach, and Rotel -- omg, so yum). Our motto of the day was "Diet starts Monday!"
OOO, I want to make this RIGHT NOW.
I'll totally have to make this for Ale when he comes back! Easy and delicious snack attack?! Yes please!
