Last week we had a huge pollen explosion around Raleigh. Every surface outside was covered with yellow dust, and people were sneezing left and right at the grocery store.
But it was all worth it. Seemingly overnight, leaves were popping out on branches and flowers and trees are blooming.
One of our favorite things about our new neighborhood (other than the fact that a lot of the houses are a lot nicer than ours, so we can fix ours up as much as we want and still not have to worry about going too far) is the lake, with picnic tables and benches next to it. There's actually a lot of little lakes in the Raleigh area, many nestled between housing developments, and we're happy to have this pretty lake, with blossoming trees next to it, to be able to visit once we finally move in.
So pretty and springy! Have you had a pollen explosion yet this year where you live? Any signs of spring yet in your neck of the woods?

Beautiful photos! I'm definitely seeing signs of spring around here, especially now that we have finally gotten a bit of rain! I'm excited for the cherry blossoms to come out - I've already seen a few around Japantown :)
Beautiful blooms and great pictures! It was so warm here in DC for a couple weeks that most of the trees have already gone through the bloom cycle and are now turning green. All the pinks and whites were so pretty, though, and since I don't really have an issue with pollen allergies, I loved being able to walk outside and enjoy it.
How beautiful! Look at that water!
so pretty!
Isn't it great?? Yes, the yellow pollen did take over for a while but look how beautiful everything is now! You two are going to absolutely LOVE living in your new neighborhood. I think it's great that you have a pond so close to your home. Is it within walking distance?
Ahhh so pretty.. The Japanese thing to do is to have a picnic and get really drunk under those trees.. it's tradition at the first blooming... just saying :)
Beautiful! I was just standing in our backyard a few minutes ago smiling over how nice and green everything is looking! :)
Everything has exploded into life here too! Yellow pollen is everywhere, but I haven't had an allergy attack yet!! Here's hoping that trend continues! Your neighborhood looks beautiful.
