Just imagine the cute messages you could bake into cookies! Thoughts of sweet messages for my husband and fun industry-related phrases for my office immediately swarmed my mind. Oh, the possibilities to amaze and astound my family and friends with my awesome culinary skills.
But then I realized that, oh yeah, I don’t really bake.
I mean, I know how to make cookies, sure, and quite a few other desserts. I make maybe one or two batches of cookies a year. But I don’t really like sweets that much, including cookies, and besides, they wouldn’t be good for my healthy (err, healthier) eating goals.
So for $19.95, I think I’ll resist the initial temptation to order these. I’m pretty sure the $19.97 I just spent on buying the Fix-It and Forget-It slow cooker cookbook off our own registry will be a much better investment, considering it has 1,400 recipes, and I’ve never used a slow cooker before.

So, no adorable cookie pictures will be shared anytime soon on this blog. But maybe I’ll have a story or two about my crock-pot successes. Or maybe I just fail at being domestic, we shall see! Just don’t tell The Mr. that I passed on making him cute cookies, because he would love for me to start baking!
Have you ever gotten sucked in by a kitchen or home product, only to realize that you’ll likely never use it?

So many times! This is probably because I really don't like to cook, but in my mind, I'm a combination of Ina Garten and Martha Stewart. I registered for a slow cooker and pressure cooker, both which are rarely used.
I got that cookbook at my bridal shower and haven't used it yet - I'm looking forward to trying out our slow cooker, though!
Slow cookers are really the best things ever! Think about it - you throw a bunch of stuff in a pot, leave it all day, and then your delicious dinner is ready for you when you come home. My favorite used to be any chicken recipe, because it becomes fall-off-the-bone good at the end of the day from stewing in the sauces. Unfortunately, my fiance is a vegetarian, so now we just stick to veggie chilli and cholay (which is sort of like an Indian version of veggie chilli).
I remember seeing the post about these cookies/cookie cutter on the Weddingbee boards back then (we got married in august 2010 and I spent many an hour on weddingbee the months prior ;)) and fell in love with them. But like you yourself, I don't really bake hehe. Nor were they available anywhere near where I live (The Netherlands) so.. no cute cookies for me either.
